The Village of Baytowne Wharf

The Village of Baytowne Wharf is a new Sandestin property and features a 28-acre pedestrian village overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay with a collection of more than two dozen specialty shops, eateries and nightclubs.

Hotel Reservations

The SCA has obtained Special Rates for two room types. The first type is a single/double occupancy hotel room @ a rate of $149 (each includes a kitchenette). The second type, called a "One Bedroom Unit", is available @ $169 per night. This one bedroom condo style unit has a full kitchen complete with appliances, washer/dryer, and kitchen amenities, along with a living/dining area and a separate bedroom. The "One Bedroom Units" are available in the Grand Sandestin Hotel and also in The Village condo units (shown here as Market Street Inn, Pilot House, and Observation Point North and South). Both the Hotel and The Village are adjacent to the Conference Center, where all meetings are scheduled. They are also within convenient walking distance of The Village shops and restaurants. To make your hotel reservations, call (800) 320-8115 and specify your room type and request Southern Cotton Association rates. Also available are "Two Bedroom Units" for $209 per night.

The SCA rates will be available through April 5, 2004.

Registration Information

Registration Fee for the 89th Annual Convention is $175 per registrant (spouse is complimentary) and includes all social and business functions. You can register online by clicking the link below or you can download the form in pdf format and fax to our office at (901) 527-8303. Registration cut-off date is April 23, 2004.

Travel Discounts

AvisOur official car rental company is Avis. For your convenience, an Avis booth is located inside the airport and special discounted rates have been provided for our attendees. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 331-1600 or online by clicking on the Avis logo. Be sure to mention our Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) # J658391.

Resort Card Privileges

Each attendee will receive a Resort Card, which serves as your Sandestin Resort guest charge card. It allows you access to the resort transportation system (tram), the health club, two hours of boogie boards, one hour of kayak and canoe fun, an hour of tennis court time daily (based on availability) and admission to special family and teen programs and events. Additional cards may be obtained at the Front Desk.

Golf Scramble

The Links Course, named one of the "Top Five Courses in Northwest Florida" and one of the "Top 100 Courses in Florida", is the site of our annual golf scramble. Play begins at 1:00 on Friday afternoon with a shotgun start. The Tram will be available for transportation to and from the course.

Cost is $95 per player and includes greens fee, cart and range balls. Please include your golf fee with your registration fee.

Cajun Cooking Class

Gerard's Cookery and Cajun Market, located in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, offers a full schedule of unique and diverse cooking classes. We have made arrangements for a class to be offered to our attendees on Friday, May 7th at 10:00 am. A minimum of 10 participants must sign up for this class. The cost is $40 per person and can be included on your Registration Form. Chefs for the Poppy's Culinary Team will instruct our class. It is not just a cooking class but an experience.

The Queen's Tea

Join us for a "Tea Party" at the Magnolia and Ivy Tea Room on Friday, May 7th at 3:00 pm. Cost per participant is $30. Be treated like a king or queen while being served the finest tea and gourmet treats including savory quiche, soup, scones, assorted finger sandwiches, delectable sweets and fresh fruit. Hats, gloves and fur stoles are available for guests to wear to enhance their experience.

The class minimum is 10 participants, so make your reservation early and include the cost of the Tea Party on your Registration Form. Go to www.magnoliaivy.com for more details on the Magnolia & Ivy Tea Room.

PARADISE ISLAND FEAST

Mike invites all attendees to a Paradise Island Feast at The Marina at 7:00 on Friday evening. Dress attire for the feast is your favorite Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops.

Saturday Evening "Drop By" Farewell Reception

Although we will have a one-day business meeting next year, our convention will not be held again until 2006. President and Mrs. Mike Farrish invite all attendees to drop-by their suite Saturday evening between 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Cocktails and light Hors D'oeuvres will be served.

Additional Information

Available daily are Cajun Cooking Classes, Pottery Classes, and Afternoon Tea Party at the Magnolia Tea Shop. Check with the concierge for times and locations.
